TwelveSouth PlugBug World for International Charging

TwelveSouth PlugBug World for International Charging
Geeks Union

You may remember back to around a year ago when the PlugBug was released by TwelveSouth to great critical acclaim. This fantastic Mac and iDevice charger was the perfect solution for charging any of your Apple devices, and it was handy enough to carry around every single place you go. The TwelveSouth PlugBug has now gone through a major update, and this time it has gone international. The adapter is now swappable and you can use it in the United Kingdom, anywhere in Continental Europe, Australia, North America, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, China, Japan, in fact, pretty much any country worth visiting you can use your PlugBug. Sounds pretty nifty right? Of course it is.

As I mentioned before, this is the international version of a previously released device. So what makes this so wonderful? Well, it gives you the convenience of dual charging on your Mac or any other Apple device out there. So what makes this so great? Well, the PlugBug attaches directly to your current Apple MacBook Power Adapter. Basically you are going to be replacing the current attached plug and the power cord which is normally there. This means that instantly you will be able to charge your Apple MacBook no matter where you are in the world. That isn’t the best part though! Once it is snapped into place you have a nifty little USB charger which you can use to charge your iPad or iPhone. You only need to use your USB charger here, nothing else to do. This means that you can charge all of your Apple devices from just one outlet. This is absolutely fantastic because we know how limited space is in hotel rooms, the place where you will most likely use that. In addition to this, since the USB charger is 2.1 amps it will charge your device far, far quicker than it would do if you plugged it into your MacBook. It is powerful too, and thus it is worth using if you need to get your devices fully charged ready for the next meeting that you are going to head to. In my opinion, this is a device which is going to be favored most by those that are business users, although to be perfectly honest it can be used no matter what the situation is and the price is competitive enough to be used by general consumers. This is certainly something that you are going to want to keep in your bag at all times!

You can pick up the PlugBug World directly from TwelveSouth by hopping on over to twelvesouth.com. It is rather cheap too, it will only set you back $44.99 / £39.99 or 44.99€, be quick though, I anticipate that this little baby is going to sell pretty quickly. If you have used the original PlugBug then you will know just how useful this is going to come in, especially if you love to travel around the world.

I have some long term international travel plans for early next year, so I'm glad I saw this. What a handy little charger to have! The price sounds great, too. It's a small investment for a lot of convenience.

This would have been great when I was traveling last time. For some reason I had a curse of bad luck that started with a late plane ride and ended with hitting three stores trying to find a charger than worked for everything I needed at the time. Never even knew about this one!

Nifty! The last time I went on a business trip that included more than one country, I felt loaded down with electronic paraphernalia. This will lighten my load, and speed up recharges.

I am very interested in this handy charger but there is one thing I can't figure out. Is it safe to use in countries with a different electrical voltage system? The last portable adapter I had required an intermediary device too.

Oh wow, this is exactly what I have been looking for. I love to travel but hate dragging a really heavy multi-country adapter box with me. I am surprised by the price too - what a bargain.
