New iOS 7 Concept Rumors

Geeks Union

Earlier this week, a number of Apple-focused bloggers claimed iOS 7 was running behind schedule and that it would bring a significant user interface refresh.

Designer F. Bianco has posted a set of images to Flickr with some interesting thoughts on what useful changes Apple could make to iOS 7 to improve the user experience. Apple’s user interfaces will likely face new scrutiny now that Facebook has laid out a new vision for how phone users interact with their devices with Facebook Home.conceptimages
One of the more interesting concepts that Bianco shows is a ‘widget’ mode for apps that allows users to see quick information or change app settings straight from the home screen, as well as a quickly accessible settings screen that can slide out from the side to quickly adjust settings.

Turning Bluetooth on and off, for example, takes four distinct steps and the process could be much improved with a quickly accessible preferences screen.

Changing the accessibility of the setting screen will be a great help. The Bluetooth example mentioned is, for me, a big one. I am constantly turning my Bluetooth on and off and having it right there will be terrific.

I wonder if any new emojis will be coming out with iOS 7.  As much as I prefer Android, one of the things I love about Apple is emojis, and when new emojis come out, Android messaging apps get updated, and I can use them :D

That business of having the settings menu be readily available is, by itself, worth the trouble to install the update. Thanks for the good news!

This is interesting. I find using Facebook on my phone is quite a challenge - so if they are changing that process I'll be more than happy. Any ideas about the release date for iOS 7?

I like the concept. It's always tiresome to have to shift through a dozen menus before finding the settings for something. I'm not sure if this design will be implemented,  but I do think that usability will be improved in the new iOS. That has always been Apples strong point.

I am curious now to see how long it will take before we can update to the new iOS. If the images posted by Bianco are anything to go by, then this update will be wonderful! In my opinion iOS has always been one of the most intuitive operating systems around. Hope they keep that up!

I hope these bloggers, especially Bianca, actually have inside information so these features will come true.  Anything that eliminates steps is awesome, in my opinion.  There really shouldn't be more than 2-3 steps to use any app or access any service.
