Review Overview

Great

Great!

The S3 is definitely not a kiddie toy – the world’s most powerful portable laser, it can put out a staggering 1,250mW of power.

If you’ve ever wished you could have your very own light saber, wish no more. The S3 Arctic Laser puts all the power of Darth Vader in your hands, and then some.

The S3 is definitely not a kiddie toy – the world’s most powerful portable laser, it can put out a staggering 1,250mW of power. To put this in perspective, the average laser pointer with 5mW of power can pose a danger to flying aircraft because the light can flood the cabin, temporarily blinding the pilot. The S3 can be seen from the International Space Station. The company even has pictures on their site to prove it.

This laser comes with a lithium battery that will give you 30 minutes to 3 hours of use per charge depending on the mode. As you’ll see in the video, there are high and low power options, as well as strobe, continuous and beacon modes. There’s even an SOS mode, which sends out a distress signal in Morse code. That could really come in handy if you get lost in the woods or caught out in a snowstorm, because the laser can be seen from a few miles away.

The S3 comes with a battery, charger, tactical holster and pair of safety goggles. Optional accessories include a blade that will turn your laser into a true light saber and an expanded lens kit. The kit includes six lens types, including flashlight, focus, galaxy, flood, line and cross.

The S3 Arctic Laser is a powerful piece of equipment that must be treated with respect. You should always wear the included safety glasses when operating it, and avoid pointing it at any human or animal. Even following these precautions, you can do lots of fun and useful stuff with the S3.

I have only used very low powered 5mW blue laser pointer from http://www.berlinlasers.com/ for my lab experiment. I just love the most charming and attractive blue laser beam emitting. It is just a quite nice laser to hold in hands.
