Seagate GoFlex Satellite Review
External hard drives are great for taking files along wherever you go, but they’re not particularly exciting. However, the Seagate GoFlex Satellite is not your average external hard drive.
The Satellite is designed with the mobile user in mind. It not only stores your files, it streams them wirelessly to any of your devices. It allows you to take your entire media library with you wherever you go, and stream it to your iPad, iPod, Android tablet or computer via Wifi, no cords or cables required.
The Satellite has its own rechargeable battery, and it can stream up to five hours of HD video on a single charge. It’s even capable of streaming video to up to three users simultaneously. Up to eight users can connect simultaneously to access music, photos and other files. Streaming and browsing are accomplished via the GoFlex Media app for iPod, iPad and iPhone users, and through any web browser for users of other devices.
Adding your content to the device works just like any other external hard drive. Just connect to your computer with the included USB cable, and transfer your files like you normally would. The device supports USB 3.0 for quick data transfers.
With 500GB of storage, the Seagate GoFlex Satellite can hold over 8,000 hours of music, over 160,000 photos or about 125 hours of HD video. You can plenty of media to satisfy your entertainment needs and have enough room left over for lots of files.
