A Look at iPad

It’s no surprise that the use of technology reigns as everyone tries to get through the normal hustle and bustle of their day. Hectic schedules hardly leave room for long, drawn-out processes that are nearly outdated. Manufacturers continue to accommodate the majority of users who desire accurate, but fast applications to get them through their daily functions.

Major instances of the constant push for fast results occur with the use of the iPad, a brand of tablet computes made by Apple Inc. The device is mainly known for its audiovisual media, giving access to music, games, books, web content, and movies. Initially released in the spring of 2010, iPad runs on the iPhone operating system, which also supports the iPhone and iPod. The device has received favorable reception because of its attractive multitouch display and speedy Internet access, among other capabilities.

Prior to iPad’s launch, Apple introduced a line of Newton MessagePads in the 1990s. These devices were eventually discontinued before the turn of the decade and mobile computing devices weren’t revisited until 2007 with the release of the iPhone. Although the iPad had been in the works before the iPhone, Apple decided to introduce the iPhone first since it contained some of the same ideas as the latter. Access to the iPad was initially only through the Apple Store. Since its emergence, the device has now been made available through a variety of online retailers. It’s also prominent overseas in numerous regions, including Germany, Spain, Australia, Japan, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Every Web Developer’s Dream

The iPad’s aesthetic appeal makes it an ideal catch. You’ll likely find the device in the arms or on the laps of many kinds of individuals, including public speakers, business executives, teachers, bookworms, gamers, music listeners, and publishing representatives. However, professionals in web design careers can really take advantage of the iPad’s multiple features which help them balance technical principles with carrying out their creative goals.

Two primary elements that are integral parts of the web development process are Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Fortunately, iPad has applications that enable professionals in web design access and utilize both features quickly and easily. These types of capabilities are what help keep the device in the forefront of the mobile computing sector.

  • HTML – This system for web pages was officially introduced to the public in the mid-1990s, although earlier limited versions had been established as early as 1980. HTML tags lay the foundation for websites, enabling web browsers to read the encryptions and translate them into comprehensible content on the page. The written form of HTML contains a wide host of specific characters. A network of brackets, tags and abbreviations for headers, paragraphs and line breaks are carefully arranged to display an intended message on the computer. HTML enables both objects and images to be incorporated into a site for viewing pleasure. There  are several versions of HTML that have been introduced in recent years.
  • CSS – This is another form of language that web browsers read and interpret. It puts more emphasis on the appearance and layout of a page and carefully styles HTML writings, although it can also be used on Extensible Markup Language (XML) documents. CSS’s focus on presentation is demonstrated in its use of color, fonts and layout to enhance the look of pages. It can also provide pages with the same content in different styles and designs, as its legendary flexibility can be added to voice, print, Braille-based, and onscreen approaches. CSS was introduced during the late 1990s when web developers grew frustrated with the limitations and complexity of HTML during its peak. It was proposed in order to help enhance web presentation capabilities, and Internet Explorer was the first web browser to have complete support for the language. Several other browsers soon followed, but the number of bugs and inconsistencies began plaguing web developers’ work. These were eventually cleared up with basic workarounds and fixes in the newer versions. Some CSS capabilities include text color, background, alignment, bordering, and spacing between words and lines.
