App News This Week

It’s been a busy week so check out the new updates, schedules, and thermostats!

Fantastical Updates!

Fantastical is one freakin awesome app! We love and use it everyday, and now, it’s been updated with some new features! The new version, 1.3, was released this past Thursday. 1.3 adds support for Reminders for iOS and iCal, which will work perfectly with 10.8 Mountain Lion, probable to release at WWDC. Other small bugs and changes were made including the fix for sending out responses to event invites by Outlook. If you already own Fantastical, the update is free. If not go snatch it off of the App store for only $19.99.

WWDC 2012 Schedule!

Apple announced the schedule for WWDC starting Monday June 11th at 10:00AM (Pacific Time). There are many classes and presentations for OS X Developers, including Mountain Lion development. Reservations are made through your Apple ID.

Nest Learning Thermostat on sale at Apple Store

If you have been hiding under a rock lately you wouldn’t know about the Nest. Nest is a smart thermometer that has complex algorithms to learn when and what temperature is best for your environment. Recently the Nest was picked up by the Apple Store. Want to know more about the Nest? Check out our recent post!

Though Fantastical is useful, it seems a bit overpriced for its $20 price tag. It is great that the update is free though.

I hadn't heard about Nest until today. Does it measure the temperature of the environment, or does it measure the temperature of my device?

@bledred I agree - wow $20 is a lot for an app. It would have to be the best app out there and save me a ton of time and/or money for me to pay $20.
