Adding Photos to iPod Nano

Syncing Photos from a Mac

To sync photos from iPhoto or a folder on your Mac:

  1. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
  2. Select your iPod in the DEVICES section of the iTunes Source list.
  3. In the main iTunes browser window, select the Photos tab.
  4. Select the checkbox labeled “Sync photos from” and then choose either iPhotoApertureChoose Folder, orPictures, from the menu.
    • If you choose iPhoto, select “All photos and albums” to copy all of your photos in iPhoto, or “Selected albums only” and select individual rolls or albums you want to include.
    • If you choose Choose Folder, navigate to and select the folder of photos you want, then click Choose. Select “All photos” to copy all photos in the folder, or choose “Selected folders” to sync particular subfolders.
    • If you choose Pictures, choose “All photos” to copy all photos in the folder, or choose “Selected folders” to sync particular subfolders.
  5. If you want iTunes to also include the full-resolution versions of your photos, select the “Include full-resolution photos” checkbox. To access full-size photo files, be sure to enable your iPod for disk use.)
  6. Once you have decided which photos you’d like to sync, click Apply.

Syncing Photos from Windows

To sync photos from Adobe Photoshop Album, Adobe Photoshop Elements, or a folder on your Windows computer:

  1. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
  2. Select your iPod in the DEVICES section of the iTunes Source list.
  3. In the main iTunes browser window, select the Photos tab.
  4. Select the “Sync photos from” checkbox, then select either My PicturesChoose Folder, or, if you have either program installed, Adobe Photoshop Album or Adobe Photoshop Elements, from the drop-down menu.
    • If you choose My Pictures, choose “All photos” to copy all photos in the folder, or select “Selected folders only”, to sync particular subfolders.
    • If you choose Choose Folder, navigate to and select the folder of photos you want, then click OK. Select the “All photos” to copy all photos in the folder, or choose “Selected folders” to sync particular subfolders.
    • If you choose Adobe Photoshop Album or Adobe Photoshop Elements, select “All photos and albums” to copy all of your photos in your chosen program, or “Selected albums only”, then choose any checkbox next to the albums you want to include.
  5. If you want iTunes to also include the full-resolution versions of your photos, select the “Include full-resolution photos” checkbox. To access full-size photo files, be sure to enable your iPod for disk use.)
  6. Once you have decided which photos you’d like to sync, click Apply.

Now any time you add photos to your synced folder or album, iTunes will automatically update the pictures on your iPod whenever you connect it to your computer.

I'm glad I found this post. I gave my teenage niece my old iPod Nano for her birthday. I've just printed out this article and sent it to her, just in case she hasn't figured it out yet. You never know how much technical know-how the kiddies have these days. She was thrilled with her "gently used" gift.
